CEO Update May

The safety and well-being of our customers, people and suppliers is our number one priority. We are continually monitoring the coronavirus outbreak in the UK and are taking action to keep you and our teams safe.

We know that your business relies on our ability to provide parts and expertise at speed and at scale, so we’re working hard to keep our network running, safely and responsibly.

I wanted to contact you today to share some of the steps we’ve taken:

Across our network

We are working with all our teams to ensure that the recommended precautionary measures are in place to help prevent the risk of exposure. This is being done at every branch by all our team members.

This includes reinforcing best-practice guidelines on regular handwashing and providing antibacterial gels and wipes in our driver’s vehicles.

Since the global outbreak of the coronavirus began, we have been developing contingency plans that would enable as much of our network as possible to remain open and operational. If any branches became affected, then they would close temporarily with deliveries and customers re-routed to alternative locations close by within our 300-strong nationwide network.

At our HQ and national distribution centre

We have taken several precautionary measures to minimise the volume of people moving in and out of our central distribution centres in Tamworth and Dublin, which sit at the heart of our distribution networks in the UK and Ireland.

Our head office departmental teams usually based at these locations are now working from home or from alternative locations. We are holding meetings remotely using online conferencing services and have paused business travel and external visits at these sites too.

Right now, both distribution centres remain open and fully operational. If either had to close temporarily then we have robust contingency plans in place to keep our branch network well-stocked and open for business.

Working with our suppliers

We haven’t experienced any issues with stock availability because of the outbreak to date and are well prepared to mitigate against any potential impact. We continue to work in close partnership with our suppliers to ensure that we support your needs.

In addition, we have developed a robust European risk assessment framework with our parent company LKQ which covers our top selling brands. As a precaution where we have identified suppliers as medium or high risk, we have invested in increasing our stocks to ensure a continuity of supply so are able to confidently say that the risk to supply is very low.

Currently, there are no concerns over the coronavirus outbreak within our business, which continues to operate as normal. All locations, including our branch network, remain open and operational.

We are continuing to monitor the situation daily and are closely following the guidance of the UK government and its agencies.

Kind regards

Andy Hamilton, CEO, Euro Car Parts Group
