Our Starline shock absorbers are all gas as standard - low-pressure nitrogen gas is added to provide enhanced comfort and noise reduction. Meaning none of our shocks absorbers have any oil content.

Oil or gas? What are the differences?

A gas shock absorber is a hydraulic shock, it’s injected with a certain amount of low-pressure nitrogen gas. Gas shocks have valves with large holes to give comfort and smaller holes for driver control. Oil shock absorbers can generate bubbles in operation, resulting in knocks and noise inside of the shock. Gas shocks can separate out and air bubbles.
