Five checks you really should know

Exhaust systems can be a maze of checks, so breaking them down is key.

Most vehicles with faulty exhaust systems don’t come in with just one issue, so the advice is to keep it through and efficient when checking. The list could go on, but here’s some simple steps to keep in mind when vehicles arrive at your workshop:

1. Assess the level of corrosion on components, avoiding costly breakdowns

2. Check for failed parts to prevent an MOT failure

3. Always check exhaust mounts

4. Have to knowledge prior to checking on how to handle DPF issues

5. Check Adblue to prevent future issues and add value.

All these may seem straight forward, but without checking you will never truly know the extent of a potentially damaged system.
