DVSA announce MOTs can still go ahead

Following the announcement of lockdown 3.0, we’re encouraged to see that it is business as usual for MOT test centres.

New rules say you can continue to provide MOT tests in all parts of Great Britain, including:

  • Tier 1 to 4 areas and the national lockdown in England
  • Protection level 0 to 4 areas and the temporary lockdown in Scotland
  • Alert level 1 to 4 areas in Wales.

Whilst remaining open is key, it is just as important to keep Covid compliant.

We believe the key to success is keeping customers and colleagues safe. By booking MOTs in advance, you can keep organised, as well as keeping a steady stream of revenue coming into your business. Remember when booking jobs, to allow yourself ample time to deep clean the vehicles before and after coming into workshops.

The Independent Garage Association (IGA) is a great source of information, with a full guide on the things you can do to keep open and operational as safely as possible.
